Filante SL ID2 draws on the aerodynamic design of the Filante SLR ID2 and carries forward its refined development process. Developed in close collaboration with the technical staff at Groupama-FDJ United, that process looked beyond the frame alone to optimize the entire racing ecosystem: the complete bike, its components, accessories and, above all, the rider. Optimised tube profiles, surfaces designed to guide airflow without interruption, seamless integration between frame and cockpit: every section was developed through advanced CFD simulations and validated in the Silverstone wind tunnel, where the project outperformed every initial prediction.
Filante SL ID2 inherits all of this. Because sharing an aerodynamic design is about far more than adopting the same shape. It means carrying forward every hour of development, every simulation, every engineering decision that made the Filante SLR ID2 what it is.
This build is specified with SRAM 1x Rival and Miche Aero 50 mm carbon wheels, a setup that suits Alberta riding and racing exceptionally well. Why 1x? A 2x setup often includes many overlapping gears; 1x simplifies the drivetrain, improves aerodynamics, reduces weight and delivers a cleaner chain line. Increasingly, both amateur and pro racers are opting for 1x systems. With the whole SRAM ecosystem you also get a wide array of gearing choices to suit different riders and terrains.
