Fitting
You can have the coolest bike in the world, but if it hurts to ride you aren’t going to use it. That’s why every single bike that leaves our store has been fit by Guri who has over 25 yrs of fit experience under his belt. All our bike purchases include a full bike fit. Fitting is a precise science and with the aid of our GURU fit bike we can dial in the position and select bikes based on that, fit first. With years of racing and fitting top Canadian riders, including Olympians and World Champions, plus a Kinesiology degree, your bike fit is handled expertly and professionally. By using our GURU Fit Bike, we can ensure that your new fit will be right for you, based on your proportions, and not an attempt to force you into a specific bike or frame. Find your fit. Email or call us to book a consult for build options. We can answer many inquires over email and if we feel we can build up a bike to suit your needs, we will schedule a fitting.
During peak months we only fit for new bikes being purchased from us. Our fit is a critical tool in our new bike process, and that is where we focus its use. If you have an existing bike not purchased from PRW and would like to inquire about getting it fit please contact us. We can discuss your current issues etc and if we feel we can address your needs and issues we can look at booking a fit.
-Road,Gravel,Cross and Track fits are $290 plus Tax (included with new bike purchase)
-Tri and TT Fits are $350 plus Tax (included with new bike purchase)
With modern internally routed frames some adjustments are more labour intensive so additional costs may apply, such as changing a fit-related component like a stem,or saddle. We are transparent about all costs etc when we do our consult prior to booking your fit. All fits include a free 30 day follow up. We also offer custom cycling footbeds that can be added into any fit appointment or on their own.
Once we know how you like to ride, we can look to see what you can ride. By fitting first, before we look at any bikes, we can use your fit, your position, and your proportions to look objectively at the frames we carry and select only the ones that suit your position and your needs.
We offer two categories of bikes: Semi Custom and Full Custom. Both types are suitable for all level of cyclists and our partner brands provide frame and component options for different types of riding and riders. We design and build each bike to meet your personal needs and provide a perfect fit.
Semi Custom is a category of bicycles where we source stock geometries and you are free to control many aspects of the build process including: paint, components, drive train, as well as specific dimensions for bar, stem and post. Working together with a range of options, we are able to design and build a bike that is personalized to you without expensive changes often required later on with stock bikes. For Full Custom we take it one big step further and work with frame builders to offer you a full custom geometry frame complete with personalized paint.
Once you’ve picked a frame, the real fun begins. We treat all of our bikes as a frame up build. What that means for you, is that you get to pick the groupset, handlebars, saddle, wheels, gearing, you name it. We want you to get a bike that you’ll love to ride, from the first pedal stroke to the last. With a guaranteed fit and build of your choosing, we can ensure that there will be no compromises.
Some common questions we get:
Q: After the initial consultation how does one proceed to get the build and fit process going ?
A: Once we look at some viable options in regards to spec and budget we take a 50% deposit to get the fit process scheduled. After the fitting the balance is due upon completion.
Q: What is the price range for your bikes?
A: All our semi custom road bikes start at $9000 and up with Gravel bikes starting at $8000. Full Custom builds start at $9000 typically, but again we can iron out details during the consult.
Q: Do you keep bikes in stock or is everything special order?
A: We do stock a great range of frames and completes that we can build up but a large portion of our frames are ordered after the fit process. This insures our clients get the best possible bike for their needs. We can typically build up a bike in as fast as 2 weeks but at times with part specs etc it may take up to 4-8 weeks or longer for custom paint.
