The original All Road frame that started it all for Basso. To me this is the frame that so many brands are just starting to make. While Basso has been making it for years, in Italy. I look at this as more of an all-road frame, not just a gravel bike. Unlike the current crop of Gravel Adventure bikes with massive clearance, the Basso maxes out at 42 mm. This allows them to keep the handling and geometry tight. Think of it as a Road bike that has clearance for Gravel tires. To me this is what I want out of my own gravel bikes. Handles like a sports car, not a mini van. Geometry that can be appreciated by and road racer. But don’t fret it can still tackle all your adventure needs with many mounts on the frame and fork. Sleeping in ditches awaits!
Throw some 28 or 30 mm road tires on and it can tackle anything that a pure road bike can but with added comfort. I am always hesitant of just categorizing this as a gravel bike as it truly handles like a fast Endurance Road bike. Many of our client builds on this frame have included an extra set of wheels so the versatility from road bike to gravel bike can be quickly achieved. However you build it I know you will love what this little brand is building, 100% made in Italy. #wedopalta
