PRW X SAS

Back in 2020 I mentioned that I had a few projects in the works for our 20th Anniversary. It may now be 2021, but we are still in a global shit-storm, so forgive me for being a bit late in rolling this collaboration out! I have always been lucky to have amazing partners but with the difficult times we are facing in so many industries you really get to know who has your back. Daniel Golden, the owner of Search and State, is a man who is definitely a good friend of PRW. Since its beginning, the SAS team has been like a family to the shop. Being the small guy it is always a pleasure to deal with a brand that gets it. They love what they do and love cycling in all of its forms. You always get a feeling of community in the way they portray themselves and in the products they develop. This PRW x SAS collab is no exception. I let Daniel do what he does best and design us a garment that reflects the shop and has that trademark SAS styling to it. I was blown away with what he came up with and the process used to get to it. I am honoured to be a part of the SAS family who were doing All Road apparel before All Road was a thing ! 100% made in New York as always.

But don’t take my word for it, read what he had to say about the process:

“Custom projects are always a fun challenge for us. We do very few so when we do take them on we definitely get into it. We have been working with Guri for years now and PRW was one of the first shops to carry SAS when we started. The relationship has been a pleasure and we're big fans of the shop and the aesthetic which runs through it from end to end. Our challenge is always to take what we see and feel when we look inside a store and then turn out artwork which marries everything together. Most shop kits seem to just get logos thrown about them and a few kitchy graphics here and there and then that's the end of it. For us we are always after something a little more sublime and interesting when we design, so we took our usual minimalist approach to this camo and livened it up a bit with the shop-colored PRW logos inside the geo-camo shapes. As far as color, tonal blues and greys always feel elevated and take things to a classy place, which is what we wanted to do for Guri. Our vision was to create a jersey which matched the level of the bikes coming out of the shop and not have a disconnect between the gear and everything that surrounds it. We think we have achieved that and could not be more pleased with the outcome. This is a stunner of a shop jersey if you ask us. Of course we thank Guri for being such a great partner all these years and for being an incredible advocate for cycling and quality goods. We hope you love the 2021 PRW shop jersey as much as we do. Thanks! “
