Founded in 1992 by former Cyclocross World Champion Mike Kluge, these German engineered bikes are designed by racers, for racers. It is always nice to build a bike that is well thought out, something that bicycle engineers take for granted. Many brands simply do a CAD drawing, run some computer simulations and start pumping them out. I don’t know how many times I have worked on a bike of some major brand where changing a simple internally routed cable took 60 minutes, a flashlight, and a bent spoke while standing on one foot...

Focus is the opposite, internal sleeves for the cables making a cable change easy. Everything goes together nice and easy with no bloody knuckles or cursing. I am sure that J-Pow’s mechanic loved working on the Focus bikes as much as do I. Check out any Alberta CX race and you will see a lot of Focus CX bikes for a reason, they get the job done.
